My GlassesUSA Nightmare: Defective Lenses & A Warranty That's a Trap 😩
I’m writing this to warn others about the frustrating experience I had, hoping you can avoid the same pitfall. Honestly, everything about working with GlassesUSA was great until the glasses defect surfaced. I paid for premium lenses including the $48 extra for the Super Hydrophobic coating. These lenses are nearly impossible to clean. I have 9 pairs of Zenni glasses and not a single one of them have this issues. This was clearly a defect covered under their warranty, which is why I felt I had to contact their customer service to get a simple replacement.
Customer: I'm trying to get a replacement for my defective lenses under your 365-day warranty. The "Super Hydrophobic" coating I paid extra for is awful; the lenses are constantly smudged and impossible to clean.
CS Rep: I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your lenses. I can see you were offered a 50% store credit. That is our standard procedure for a return.
Customer: A return? This isn't a return, it's a warranty claim for a defect. I don't want a credit, I want a replacement pair that has the coating applied correctly. Why should I have to pay again for your mistake?
CS Rep: I understand your frustration. For a defect claim, your case must be sent to our review team. You will receive an email from them in 3 to 5 business days with a decision.
Customer: Three to five days for an email? I can’t even speak to a live agent on the phone about this. All I'm asking for is a replacement for a defective product I purchased. This is an incredibly unsatisfactory way to honor a warranty.

The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap with what they call a "warranty."
